Nutcracker

This is one of the dearest concerts to my heart, created based on the Christmas tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann in collaboration with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and conductor Dilyaver Osmanov.

As if by magic, sand animation transports you into a fantastical world, where the magic of sand and Tchaikovsky’s enchanting music create an atmosphere filled with anticipation of a miracle. The sand images take you into the world of little Marie, where the Nutcracker faces off against the Mouse King and, after his victory, transforms into a beautiful prince. This is not just a performance, but a fantastical journey where every grain of sand and every note of the orchestra tells the story that miracles are always near — you just have to believe.

Sand Show for Companies

Lana Telbukh's creative journey is a story of resilience and triumph. THE UNFORGETTABLE ART OF SAND ANIMATION FOR THEATERS

PASSION FLOWING THROUGH SAND

For Lana, theatrical projects are among the most inspiring and creatively compelling. Her experience includes productions with narrators, orchestral oratorios, and performances featuring actors. Such collaborations open space for finding imaginative solutions and crafting visual meanings that enhance the dramaturgy of a show. Theater work holds a special place in her artistic practice — it is a realm where the most striking ideas emerge and where sand animation reveals its emotional power and depth.

The Spectre’s Bride
Hof
January 30, 2026 19:30

THE SPECTRE’S BRIDE is a gripping ghost story that unfolds between longing, hope, despair, and terror—until the redeeming dawn. An orphaned girl waits for years for the return of her missing beloved, who finally appears to her as a bridegroom from hell, forcing her on a nocturnal ride to the cemetery. Passing decayed marshes, surrounded by will-o’-the-wisps and the howling of wild beasts, they race through the darkness until the first crow of the rooster and the first rays of the sun put an end to the haunting and set the bride free.

Antonín Dvořák’s operatic cantata THE SPECTRE’S BRIDE (1884) is based on the dark legend Svatební košile (literally: “The Wedding Shirts”) by Czech poet Karel Jaromír Erben. For the first time, this powerful work—rarely heard on stage—can now be experienced at Theater Hof in a concert performance featuring soloists, the opera chorus, and the Hof Symphony Orchestra. As a special highlight, internationally acclaimed sand artist Svetlana Telbukh will bring the imaginative and emotional world of the legend to life through live sand animation.

Art Inspiring Change
Review

I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THAT. EVERYONE WATCHED YOUR SHOW INTENTLY, AND EVEN A FEW TEARS WERE SHED BY SOME GUESTS. THERE WAS ACTUALLY APPLAUSE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES.

Thank you very much for completing everything so punctually and perfect.

At the same time, I would like to give you some brief feedback on my wife's birthday event where you showed the birthday sand show. The success and admiration were immense. The presentation was also ideal, as we had a very large screen and a very good projector at our disposal.
I also briefly showed the printed original pictures. The unanimous opinion: This is art!

We would like to sincerely thank you again for this wonderful "accompaniment" to our event, to you and your team, and wish you continued great success! I shared the link to your website several times that evening.

Warm regards from Berlin

AT SOME POINT I REALIZED THAT WE WERE CREATING A FAIRY TALE TOGETHER.

With Lana we traveled to the site of the Per Gynt project. in 2013.
Her handiwork was a delightful addition to the music of Edvard Grieg. At some point I realized that we were creating a fairy tale together.
Then fate brought us together again in the Magic Song project. Schedule. "Carol of the balls." feat.: Al Di Meola, Amoury Gutierrez, Ed Calle and other stars of world music. Once again Lana showed her ability to create a fairy tale.
I constantly follow the work of this artist who makes our world more colorful with sand.

WHEN PEOPLE ASK TO SEE THAT VERY VIDEO AGAIN ON THE SCREEN, THAT MEANS: CHAPEAU

Dear Lana,
With this message and these words, I want to once again personally and deeply thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️. To me, you are not only an exceptional talent and a gifted artist. With your unparalleled creativity, empathy, and—quite literally—your fingertip sensitivity, you created a truly wonderful sand video for me, or rather for my mother, on the occasion of her 80th birthday. It is of immeasurable value to all of us.

When, during the presentation, not only tears of emotion, admiration, joy, and love flowed from the guests, but you also heard a quiet voice asking if someone might distribute tissues—well, that says more than a thousand words. And when, later in the evening at the event, people ask to see that very video again on the screen, that means: CHAPEAU ❣️

Thank you, and all my love to you,
Petra
